As we change...

So yesterday i got the email from Anya Marina that she was not going to be working at the best radio station in San Diego...fm949. She has been offered a recording deal. She is an amazing DJ and a great person in general. I couldn't be happier for her.

If there is one thing I have learned in life it is that the one thing you can always count on is change. Life comes at you fast and you have to be able to adapt. If you are getting comfortable in your need to change or life will send you that change. We may not see routine in everyday life, but if you look at your life closely, you will see that you have developed routines in your life.

Routine can be good, but it should not be the measure of your life. One must always expect change and with that change will come opportunity. It seems that life gives us the clues and cues we need to be successful. When you are sitting around your house and feeling down or sorry, and someone invites you to go out for drinks, dinner or lunch...take that opportunity. Often times we are selfish and say, no i need down time. Trust me when i tell you, you will have down time when you die. Take the cue and go with that friend, go see that movie, go to that party.

Doing something different can inspire you and give you a direction that you didn't know existed. We tend to get stuck in our routines and let everything be, because we like be comfortable. I say change. Change your life and open your eyes to all that abounds. Life is all about the connections we make. We make them everyday. The person you smile at at the grocery store, the person in the starbucks you say hello to, the girl you sit next to at the pool. Sometimes we try to figure out what that connection means and the bottom line, for me is that we just need to appreciate that the connection happened.

I tell this to all my friends, you can drive down the same road a million times and see the same boring scenery, or you can open your eyes and drive down that same road an notice something you didn't notice the drive before that. Our perspective and our attitude are everything. If you are in a funk, choose to get out of it. It really is that simple. Stop dwelling on what you don't have and focus on all that you have. Your life should become and attitude of gratitude and it has to start with waking thoughts. Don't let negativity have any part of your life. Recognize it is always there, but know how to get rid of it. It can consume and kill you if you don't.

Love your life and the connections in it. Become your life, don't become your negativity.
